It's difficult for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have long been mastered.

This is the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the record chasers, are what's still available for a team that has won it all.

That it took up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the highest in the female 50-over format, is, frankly, a tribute to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their hitters to possess a record if not afforded the possibility.

Certain people claim the case for championship match pressure. Different voices suggest with the challenge that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's clear is this ton was considerably tougher to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this innings came after six matches in India over the past few weeks in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in the nets, it has been a disappointing period because I feel like I lacked timing completely," commented Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your competitive nature activate and you just lock into the competition."

Healy's competitive nature has continuously been her major advantage - and a priceless quality in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, fallen to the young fast bowler in all three matches, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's spark.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and from that point Healy was on her way.

"An opportunity to play and engage in competition with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 balls as she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

By the time she was out her side needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the assurance to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, should it happen, we know we can succeed."

That comment will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this championship should hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will win from any position has become more firm - this success succeeding win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite struggling at 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.

So great is her will, she afterwards commented she wished she had played despite the injury.

But while she later admitted those physical issues have pushed back consideration of ending her career, this championship is expected to be her concluding event as leader in 50-over cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as leader.

Triumph in India would take her to the summit of her ultimate challenge.
